Learning English on Skype – is it safe?
I’ve been teaching English on Skype for a while now. For me, it’s a natural thing. I send my students their materials before the lessons – they can be book pages, weblink to video or listening exercises, etc. At the arranged time, I connect to the student on Skype.
We go through the materials and exercises together and agree on the homework.
It’s no different from being in a classroom with the student. In fact, the only difference is that we’re in different countries, but for myself and the student is exactly like being in the same room.
And yet, I have noticed so many people still nervous about having their lessons on Skype. They wonder if my language school is genuine and if their money is safe. But let me ask you this question. How many of you will be doing your shopping online this Christmas?
Do you wonder if it’s safe? Of course you do!
So you check the website and the payment options and voilà, your shopping is done and the Christmas presents are on their way to you.
And this is where I get confused. You see, I speak to everyone who sends us their Enquiry Form – I’m not an automated service! Also, our website is very genuine and our payment option is Paypal, the safest on the internet.
So why be afraid of learning English on Skype?
Maybe you could help me understand and leave your answers or suggestions in the comments below.
Oh and by the way, less than a month until Christmas – time for me to start my online shopping 🙂
